Rankins won the toss and put Galleywood in to bat on hot day at Broomhills, Aaron Balies (65) an Dan Mower (71) put on 110 for the first wicket in 16 overs. The Galleywood runs where then controlled through some tight bowling from D Nanda 10 for 39 from 10 overs and a young spin bowled W O Connor, who took 1 for 49 from 10. In the final few overs Galleywood again up the tempo finishing on 272 with all the Galleywood batters getting into double figures. Dave Wicks top scoring with 31. Murray finished with 2 for 56 for 10 overs and French 2 for 26 from 3 overs. The Rankins reply go off to a poor start with Nanda being run out without scoring from a direct hit by Adama. Following that Dutton Joined Cousen and created a steady platform for Rankins to build on until Jack Good came into the attack and had Dutton caught for 29 off a quick short ball. Cousen continued to play his shots with many Rankins batsman coming and going without really troubling the scoring Mitchell (12) the only other batter to reach double figures. Cousen was 8th out for fine 107 with Rankins finishing on 193 for 8. The wicket takers for Galleywood were Jack Good 2 for 24 from 10 overs, Wes Swann 2 for 27 from four overs, Adama, Bolton and Bailes all picking up a wicket each.
